About the Course

This CPD will allow you to gain an insight into the common addictions that can come into your practice, and how the Solution Focused approach can be used very effectively to support the client, giving you the confidence as a hypnotherapist to help your clients cope, move forward and change their behaviour.

You are almost guaranteed to encounter clients struggling with addiction or misuse issues within your practice. Over 250,000 people were in contact with the drugs and alcohol services from April 2020 to March 2021, according to a national report on adult substance misuse and treatment, published November 2021. Numbers not seeking help or seeking alternate provision are presumed to be much higher.

If you want to achieve long lasting success you’ll need to have a deeper, up to date understanding of these complex issues, and know how to use the solution focused approach to support these clients.

The focus will be on:

Difference between addiction, dependency and habits.
Learn about different addictions especially alcohol and drugs.
Understand addiction through the solution focused principles.
Understand how the brain changes with addictions.
How to create a positive mindset so clients can set realistic goals.
Strategies to help with The Initial Consultation and Miracle Question.
History and trends of addiction.
