About the Course
This CPD is designed to give an insight into the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy and how SFH can help to alleviate their symptoms.
Course content:
- Knowledge of the cancer journey for a client from diagnosis to recovery.
- How SFH can support the terminal cancer client.
- The potential side-effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
- Scientific studies supporting hypnotherapy and cancer treatment side effects.
- An understanding of the ASA guidelines relating to Cancer and how to promote this very important area.
Objectives:
- To gain confidence in the effectiveness of SFH as a tool to support clients with side effects from cancer treatment.
- Knowledge of relevant case studies.
- An understanding of the symptoms that can be helped with SFH, including pain, nausea, vomiting, nervous bladder, anxiety and low mood.
- To feel confident with the SFH protocol when working with a client struggling with the side effects of chemotherapy/radiotherapy.
- To be able to ethically promote this delicate area to potential clients.
- To support clients and their families facing or undergoing cancer treatments.
- To have an understanding of the issues surrounding a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
About the Presenter
Jenny Mellenchip
AHD, DSFH, HPD, SFH Sup(Hyp), MNCH(Acc), MAfSFH, NLP and licensed trainer of NLP
Jenny trained as an NLP practitioner in 2003, with Richard Bandler, Paul McKenna & Michael Breen. After seeing success in her own life from using the techniques, in 2004 she decided to attend the NLP trainer training, again with Bandler, McKenna & Breen. She achieved the qualification of Licensed Training Specialist of NLP, the highest of 4 levels given on the training course. She went on to use the techniques learnt in her training role with a National publishing company & was gratified to see many improvements as a result.
Jenny has a training background spanning over 25 years, including 8 years as a senior lecturer for CPHT. She is very passionate about the Solution Focused Hypnotherapy model and exploring how NLP can bring a new dimension to it, without diluting its success. She is excited to be able to share her knowledge of NLP and how to use the techniques to reinforce your own practice.
