About the Course

Do you ask yourself any of these questions?

  • How do I know whether to use a rewind/reframe or general therapy approach?
  • How do I adapt the brain explanation?
  • My client has a fear of being sick – is this specific?
  • How do I work with someone with PTSD?
  • What about needle phobias – is it true that we need to be careful?
  • My new aerophobia client is flying in a week! What do I do?
  • What language patterns should I use?
  • Can someone remind me exactly how to do a rewind session?
  • How do I create a reframe?
  • My client says it hasn’t worked.  Why and what do I do now?
  • Why am I not confident in working with fears and phobias?

If so, this is the course for you.  With step-by-step explanations of the CPHT approach to the decision-making process and the specific techniques used, as well as practical exercises based on real cases and some supporting theory, this course provides everything you need to be truly impressive when working with fears and phobias.

Who is this course for?

Course objectives:

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the difference between a fear and a phobia
  2. Clearly understand the neuroscience behind the fear response in a way that informs their practice
  3. Adapt and personalise the Initial Consultation for any client presenting with specific and nonspecific fears and phobias
  4. Determine whether any specific client is presenting with a specific or nonspecific fear or phobia
  5. Be confident in their rationale for choosing the appropriate therapy approach for any given client, particularly when the decision is not clear cut
  6. Understand how and why the CPHT approach supports clients with PTSD and Needle Phobia in the way it does and apply this to their practice.
  7. Competently provide therapy sessions following the CPHT Specific Phobia Protocol – rewind/reframe

This CPD is online via zoom and will include a lunch break and couple of comfort breaks.
