About the Course

This CPD will help you understand how to use Safeguarding, Safety Planning, Assessing Risk and Working Safely Online via Zoom. We will cover what you need to know to be able to keep yourself as the Therapist as well as your clients, stay safe in Practice.

We will cover working with vulnerable/at risk clients who may be self-harming, with or without suicidal ideation. Other times they may be being bullied, or abused. Having difficulties within the family, at work or school. Or simply finding life overwhelming. Working with this group of vulnerable clients is more complex and brings more responsibility on the part of us, the therapist. We need to safeguard ourselves, as well as the people we’re working with.

We also need to follow different policy when working over Zoom with more vulnerable young people than when working face to face.

We will learn how to make individual Safety Plans when working with young people – no two people are the same, and each Safety Plan will be different and unique to each individual. We’ll also look at how to Safeguard each of our clients.

Both Safeguarding and Safety Planning are equally important and essential (though different to each other) when working with vulnerable young people. Not only do they help ensure the young person stays safe, they also cover us from a legal standpoint should the outcome with the young person be less than 100% favourable. Although this is rare thankfully, we need to acknowledge the possibility and have our paperwork securely in place, so that should we be asked by any relevant authorities to provide copies of this paperwork as evidence of our Safe and Professional Practice, it is vital we are able to do so.

You will go away at the end of the CPD with Templates of all ‘extra’ paperwork we need to use with this group of young people, including Templates for Safety Planning, and the Template of a specially adapted Risk Assessment Form, as well as the knowledge of how and when to use these.

This CPD is ideally suited to Hypnotherapists who already work very confidently with young people.

Reviews

Just a few of the great reviews received for this CPD:

Janet Dowling

This was absolutely superb and I’d thoroughly recommend any hypnotherapist to book on to the next one. However experienced. It was fabulous! I was expecting to feel drained after an all-day Zoom course but Julie’s delivery is so calming that I actually feel ready to tackle anything. And I learnt sooooo much.

Gillian Sloss

Another fabulous, and very informative CPD delivered by Julie. Julie has so much experience and a wealth of information to share, and she is always so generous with her handouts and top tips. Really enjoyed today’s CPD and I feel that it should really be included in the HPD course, safeguarding is needed now more than ever, especially since the start of this pandemic!
